On Wednesday 10th January Caroline visited the House of Magic in Newington ward.
Local magician Simon Drake showed Cllr Caroline Pidgeon, Cllr Jelil Ladipo and Simon Hughes MP around his magical home and heard about the work he carries out in the local community.
The House of Magic runs magic shows for corporate clients, but also has open nights once each month for the public. In addition, Simon Drake supports the local community, including the Frederick Adventure Playground next door, where he does magic with the children and young people and encourages them to have pride in the area etc. We saw how Simon had transformed a previously derelict pub into an incredible mysterious world, with a ‘haunted cellar’ and incredible stage and drawing room.
