Urgent action is needed on diversity in the fire brigade and police

During July, Caroline Pidgeon has put several questions to the Mayor about the concerningly low levels of diversity in both the London Fire Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.

You can read Caroline's questions, and the Mayor's answers, here.

Caroline said:

"I am glad work is being undertaken to make both organisations more representative, but the changes made need to be substantial and long lasting. We cannot allow simply another discussion of ideas and ways to change without significant and impactful policies to increase diversity within these organisations.

"It is essential that action on the staggering lack of diversity in certain parts of the Met and the LFB is taken, and quickly."
