The Mayor's Policing Office can't justify a salary like this

Caroline Pidgeon challenged the head of the Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime on the salary of £67,000 to £75,000 being offered for a personal assistant - more than the salary of a Chief Inspector, or two Police Constables - at a time when the Met faces extreme pressure on its finances, and Borough Commanders have to do their jobs without any administrative support.

Caroline said:

“At this time, when we are facing so many cuts across every bit of the GLA and across the Met, to justify having this executive PA is just not acceptable.

“It shows you don’t really understand the mood of what is going on.”
